The man, whose remains were found this week, was never charged in connection to the rapper’s death, but was named a person of interest in February 2022.

A lawyer for the officer filed a motion to stay the lawsuit brought by Tyre Nichols’ estate and mother, arguing the proceedings could be prejudicial in the ongoing criminal case. 

Jaylon Hobson, the boyfriend of missing 4-year-old Sequoia Samuels’ mother, was arrested in May for two felony charges prior to being arrested Friday, June 16.

Public documents released Friday said Sequoia Samuels did not go missing Thursday, as first reported.
