County Commission to take final vote on ‘ban the box’
The County Commission met in person for the first time since the coronavirus shutdown on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. On Monday, July 13, the Commission will take a final vote on a “ban the box” ordinance that would open some county government jobs to people with criminal records. (Bill Dries/Daily Memphian)
The proposal would remove from county government employment applications the check box or question that asks whether the applicant has been convicted of a criminal offense.
