County Commissioners add $10.7M for education, homelessness and more
Shelby County Commissioners Edmund Ford Jr., left, and Amber Mills, center, proposed three items totaling $4.2 million that would come from the county’s reserve fund. Eleven budget amendments totaling $10.7 million were made Wednesday, May 29, in committee sessions. (Patrick Lantrip/The Daily Memphian file)
Most of the amendments to the budget approved in committees would be funded out of the county’s general fund and throw Mayor Lee Harris’ proposal out of balance if the full commission approves them.
