Around 4 p.m. Monday, Doppler radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area. Between 1 inch and 2 inches of rain have fallen, with additional rainfall amounts of ½ inch to 1½ inches possible.

Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms is ongoing or expected to begin.

Small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas, are expected to be impacted.

NWS recommends avoiding areas when encountering flooded roads as most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
