Robert Moody is about to kick off his 10th season as music director of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. His tenure has had its share of challenges. There have been financial struggles and an identity crisis. There has been a pandemic. But the orchestra has also grown and flourished. It’s evolved to fit with the times.

Peter Abell, MSO CEO said of Moody: “We don’t have a history of having lots of artistic leaders of the orchestra. … He’s the fifth in 75 years. And I think this is the greatest era of all.”
