At St. Louis Church, amateur golfers are swinging for top prize

All week long, amateur golfers have been hitting buckets of golf balls on the grounds of St. Louis Catholic Church for the chance to win $1 million.

Every June for nearly seven decades, the grounds of St. Louis Catholic Church are transformed into a driving range of sorts for the annual Hole-in-One Charity Festival. The event culminates Saturday, June 27, with the Million Dollar Shoot Out.

“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Brian Tisdale, president of the St. Louis Men’s Club. “This really helps us do everything. All of the money goes towards supporting (St. Louis Catholic) school and those types of activities.”
