Art, history and soccer converge in Downtown Memphis
Melissa Wilkinson’s “Mockingbirds” are among 10 new works in the Downtown Memphis Commission’s urban art series called “Artery 2.0: Stereo to Escape.” An art march to tour them all departs from Court Square Aug. 10 at 5 p.m. (Patrick Lantrip/Daily Memphian)
The scale of images on the art walk in four historic Downtown alleys invites selfies. “We expect to lose some of our crowd as people stop and Instagram the murals,” said Penelope Huston of the Downtown Memphis Commission.
