General Assembly passes ban on police, fire residency requirements — for Memphis only
State Rep. Jeremy Faison (R-Cosby), the sponsor of a ban on residency requirements for police, gives a thumbs-down to an amendment proposed by Rep. Jesse Chism (D-Memphis) that would end the ban in 2024. Faison stands with Shelby County Republican Reps. Kevin Vaughan (far left), Tom Leatherwood (far right) and John Gillespie.
