Bill creating ‘abortion trafficking of a minor’ felony advances
Abortion-rights advocates filled a hearing room on Feb. 6 to protest Rep. Jason Zachary’s bill criminalizing “abortion trafficking of a minor.” The bill was delayed, then passed by the House Population Health Subcommittee on Tuesday, Feb. 13. (Ian Round/The Daily Memphian)
The bill would prevent adults who are not a child’s parent or guardian — including siblings and grandparents – from helping them access abortions.
