Democrats tout plans to flip Tennessee House seats

State Rep. Justin J. Pearson of Memphis has been a state legislator for less than two years.
Yet he’s already running in his sixth election, counting primaries and a pair of special elections following the death of state Rep. Barbara Cooper and then his return after other Tennessee House of Representatives legislators voted to oust him from his seat.
Pearson won the Aug. 1 Democratic primary in District 86 and faces independent challenger Jeff Johnston on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.
