State troopers will remain in Memphis after Task Force leaves

NASHVILLE — The Memphis Safe Task Force may not be permanent, but the increased presence of Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers is.

THP Colonel Matt Perry reported Wednesday, Jan. 21, to members of the Senate Transportation and Safety Committee that the agency’s presence in Memphis and Shelby County will remain near its current level.

He did not say when the Task Force is expected to leave the city.
