About Town: College Park begins transition to affordable housing
The College Park Senior Building is part of what replaced the old LeMoyne Gardens public housing development. On Monday, March 14, 2022 a ceremony on the front lawn of the property marking its conversion in a federal program known as RAD, or Rental Assistance Demonstration. Six months after residents at College Park, a government-subsidized housing complex in South Memphis, received letters informing them they would need to temporarily move out due to renovations, the site’s new owners hosted a groundbreaking ceremony.
