Parents need to unite, make schooling work

Heidi Rupke

Heidi Rupke is the parent of three children in Shelby County Schools. She works for the nonprofit Clean Memphis, which focuses on environmental education, neighborhood engagement and restaurant sustainability through its Project Green Fork arm. 

The district will provide devices for families who need them, but families are responsible for supervising and troubleshooting online learning. Parents must work together to weather this disruption in education, writes SCS mom Heidi Kupke.
