Candace Echols is a Midtown resident, wife, and mother of five. A regular contributor to The Daily Memphian, she is a freelance writer who also recently published her first book, the children’s book “Josephine and the Quarantine.” 

One day soon, we will all wake up to air that is so crisp and so clear that it blows all the way through our souls.

The humidity will be gone, the sky will turn a fresh shade of blue; smiles will curve upward with more ease than usual.

No disrespect to summer, of course. We Southerners do love our summertime, and there’s a deep sadness in seeing it go. But each season has its own delights, and fall is hard to beat.

Personally, I love fall, and celebrating its arrival with gusto means my family has fallen in love with it, too.
