CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Memphis Redbirds began a six-game road trip at the Charlotte Knights (Triple-A, Chicago White Sox) with an 8-2 loss at Truist Field on Tuesday night.

Memphis second baseman César Prieto drove in both Redbirds runs. The left-handed hitter smacked a single in the top of the first to put Memphis briefly in front then added an RBI base hit in the top of the fifth inning. Third baseman Ramon Mendoza posted a 3-for-4 night while center fielder Victor Scott II stayed hot with a two-hit game.
