The Tigers dropped their Hoops for St. Jude Tip Off Classic preseason charity exhibition to No. 9 North Carolina 84-76 on Tuesday. 

Pippen impressed during summer league and is averaging 10.3 points and 4.3 assists in the preseason. He will give the Grizzlies a full-time backup point guard.

The University of Memphis will play Alabama in the Rocket City Classic, a charity exhibition game in Huntsville, Alabama, on Oct. 28.
