It’s pretty simple. If Memphis wants to make the NCAA Tournament, the only path is winning four games in four days in the AAC Tournament. That, of course, is something they’ve never done.

The Memphis Grizzlies are signing Memphis Hustle guard DeJon Jarreau to a 10-day contract, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported. 

The Panthers were bidding to win their first championship in program history while also attempting to become the first public-school girls team from Shelby County to win state since Central in 2011.

The defending champions were too much for the Panthers to overcome.

Despite 27 points from Nae’Qwan Tomlin, the Tigers lost to the Owls.

The Memphis Grizzlies hosted their sixth annual girls summit Thursday, a sports clinic for young women presented by Nike.

Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 30 points with 11 rebounds and six blocks, and dominated down the stretch for the Grizzlies in a comeback victory.

The five-game winning streak ends with a loss at North Texas. The Tigers next game will be in the AAC Tournament on Sunday against East Carolina.
