Veteran coach Marvis Davis compares this year’s team favorably to the 2020 squad that won the Division 2-A state championship.

Running back Tony Pollard from Melrose High School and long snapper Morgan Cox from Evangelical Christian School were named to the Pro Bowl Games rosters the NFL announced Wednesday.

The Tigers (10-3) picked up a 83-61 win over Alabama State on Wednesday night at FedExForum in their final game before AAC play.

As Memphis gets set to soon head into AAC play, there’s a good chance we’ll see more of a few Tigers who’d previously been buried deep in the team’s rotation.

Jaguars kicker Riley Patterson kicked a 48-yard field goal to force overtime that allowed the Jaguars to beat the Dallas Cowboys 40-34.

The Tigers will play Utah State in the First Responder Bowl at 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 27 and Owens will not travel with the team as he’s already been removed from the 2022 roster.
