Jerry Lawler has received countless awards throughout his career. Now, he’s getting one from his hometown bowl game.

University of Memphis baseball coach Kerrick Jackson said he believes the Tigers are moving in the right direction heading into conference play. 

The atmosphere around the club is upbeat despite losses in first two matches.

Nick Jourdain is confident he can reach his ‘untapped’ potential with the Tigers.

Tigers athletic director Laird Veatch is searching for a successor to Katrina Merriweather, who left for Cincinnati. Potential candidates have extensive experience and, for some, Memphis ties.

Jourdain spent the past three seasons at Temple and averaged 6.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in 23.1 minutes per game last season.

The Grizzlies set a franchise record by winning their 33rd home game Tuesday. Not bad for a team that was supposed to be in disarray not long ago. How did they do it? “This is the closest team I’ve ever been a part of,” said Desmond Bane.

The Grizzlies clinched the best home record in franchise history on Tuesday night with a win over Orlando. They are 33-5 inside FedExForum.

Running back Brandon Thomas is out for the remainder of spring practices but coach Ryan Silverfield expects him to be back for fall training camp. In the meantime, Memphis spent much of Tuesday’s practice working on situational football.
