Here is this week's Daily Memphian high school honor roll, saluting the top performers from football, girls soccer and volleyball.

Briarcrest and Harding were the only two local volleyball teams to avoid defeat on the first day of the state tournaments Tuesday in Murfreesboro, while Houston is still alive as well.

The numbers that the Briarcrest volleyball team has put up this season speak for themselves. Heading into this week's Divison 2-AA state tournament in Murfreesboro, the Saints are 37-2 overall and 15th in the nation, according to MaxPreps.

The TSSAA state volleyball tournaments begin Tuesday at various sites around Murfreesboro leading up to the championship matches which will take place Thursday at Middle Tennessee State. Here's a look at the six local teams competing for titles this week.
