Welcome to The Daily Memphian’s new Grizzlies Insider.
With the NBA set to return late next month, this new newsletter will bring you everything you need to know about the Memphis Grizzlies each week.
Today, we look at how Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke went from a zero-star recruit to the number 21 selection in the 2019 NBA draft, as well as his role with the team.
Reporter Drew Hill became curious about Clarke’s high school days after hearing what the player’s former coach had to say. Hill was also interested when he heard that 2018 No. 2 draft pick, Sacramento Kings power forward Marvin Bagley, was playing high school ball in Arizona at the same time as Clarke.
Fast forward to the present, Clarke is expected to be fully recovered from an injury to his quad when the NBA resumes its current season in Orlando.
