Grizzlies’ Jaylen Wells no longer a bookworm, but he’s quick to learn

Six months ago, Memphis Grizzlies rookie Jaylen Wells did what every 21-year-old hopes to do when they leave college. 

The 6-foot-7 wing walked off Washington State’s campus in the spring and went straight into job interviews. One after another, he pitched himself to potential employers ahead of the last June’s NBA draft. 

The message was simple: Wells believed his playing style perfectly aligned with the future of the NBA.
