Cedric Coward scores — and does a lot more — as Grizzlies beat Bulls

By , Daily Memphian Updated: March 28, 2026 11:29 PM CT | Published: March 28, 2026 11:16 PM CT

Rookie Cedric Coward filled up the stat sheet on Saturday night but the last number he put on the board nearly lost the game.

With four seconds left and the Grizzlies leading the visiting Chicago Bulls 125-124, Coward sailed an errant in-bounds pass off the fingertips of a jumping GG Jackson and into the hands of Bulls guard Tre Jones.

Coward leapt onto the floor, both hands waving in frustration, but then leapt into the play, guarding what had suddenly become a 2-on-1 fastbreak with the game on the line.
