Marcus Smart needed help to reach the locker room after turning his ankle on Tuesday night in Los Angeles. 

If you had been told, just after the Grizzlies were eliminated from the playoffs last spring, that the team would be starting Jacob Gilyard and Bismack Biyombo nine games into the following season, you might have guessed the season was going very poorly.

“It’s probably the most important thing to me in this world,” Smart said of his foundation. “That’s who I am. Having the experiences that I did allows me to fully appreciate the moments when we give back and what it really means.”

“That felt real good,” said Marcus Smart after the Grizzlies grabbed their second win of the season.

Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins fined by NBA for blasting officials

Here is the box score for the game between the Memphis Grizzlies and the L.A. Clippers at Crypto.com Arena in California.

This is the second time Taylor Jenkins has been fined for comments on the officiating in his career.

It’s barely the second week of November, and the Grizzlies are already two-thirds of the way to last season’s total home losses.

The Grizzlies rallied to take a lead in the fourth quarter, but they couldn’t close the deal against Miami on Wednesday night.

Viewers can continue to find the Grizzlies on Bally for the rest of this season. The broadcast status beyond this season is now “to be determined.”

But if two wins would have been a lot better than one, the Grizzlies return home this week with something more than that one win: they’re bringing back a more functional team than the one they left with.
