A young Memphis Grizzlies fan was thrilled to be on the receiving end of the new Ja 1.

In addition to outstanding performances from Jones and Adams, there was Ja Morant, with another 30-point game, building his 35-8-5 stat line on a heavy diet of slicing floaters and electric layups.

If anyone knows what it takes to get out of a funk, it may be Memphis Grizzlies point guard Tyus Jones. 

Memphis Tigers coach Penny Hardaway said he loves that Grizzlies star Ja Morant received his own signature Nike shoe, and he might wear a pair of Morant’s sneakers on the sideline to represent. 

The Grizzlies played as if their noisy, high-profile loss to Golden State had knocked the wind from them, and they were able to catch their breath only fleetingly.

With the city still dealing with the aftermath of weather-related issues, Memphis is scheduled to play the Suns on Tuesday night at FedExForum.

Klay Thompson has made no new friends in Memphis. But his comments show the Warriors view the Grizzlies as a serious threat in the West. 

Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson snatched all the joy from the Memphis Grizzlies’ first-ever Christmas Day game and the debut of Ja Morant’s signature “Ja 1” sneaker. The 123-109 Warriors victory was as spicy as could be.

The Grizzlies point guard will debut his new sneaker, the “Ja 1,” on Christmas, the same day Memphis visits Golden State.

“I’ve been waiting for this game since the schedule came out,” Dillon Brooks said. “I’m happy to play on Christmas. I’ve always wanted to play on Christmas. ... Everyone as a collective group has been waiting for this game.”

The Grizzlies grabbed 19 offensive rebounds and scored 72 paint points in a blowout victory over the Suns on Friday night.
