How good will Memphis’ 2024-25 team be? Here’s what advanced analytics suggest

Even with only about one month left until Memphis’ first preseason exhibition game and less than two months until it’s 2024-25 season opener, it’s hard to predict what we’ll get from this season’s Tigers.

Coach Penny Hardaway has brought in 10 new scholarship players this offseason to go with lone returnee Nicholas Jourdain and will have an almost brand-new coaching staff after parting ways with four members of his staff earlier this month.

The Tigers also have one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country, and they play in a league — the American Athletic Conference — in which NCAA Tournament resume-boosting win opportunities are just about non-existent.

So, it’s easy to see why both media members and fans alike aren’t quite sure what to expect from the program in 2024-25.
