In what may have been Memphis’ final opportunity to turn heads this regular season, coach Penny Hardaway’s team did just that.
The Tigers routed then-No. 16 Ole Miss 87-70 at home Saturday at FedExForum to close out their nonconference schedule — the third-toughest nonconference slate in the country, per KenPom — with a 10-3 record. They improved their record to 8-2 in Quadrants 1 and 2, while no other team in the nation still has more than six Quad 1 and 2 victories combined.
