The Pac-12’s months-long search for an eighth full-time member appears to be over.
Texas State formally received an invitation to join the new-look league late Thursday night, and the school has initiated scheduling a board meeting for Monday morning to accept the invitation, as first reported Thursday by the Austin Sports Journal’s Michael Adams.
The Bobcats began alerting Sun Belt Conference officials Thursday night of their plan to jump to the Pac-12, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, with all of the school’s sports moving at the start of the 2026-27 academic year.
