Former Tigers assistant faces familiar challenge at LeMoyne-Owen

Faragi Phillips has been here before.
Not in this exact spot — a stage inside a dimly lit auditorium in South Memphis’ Soulsville neighborhood, where he was Thursday morning.
But the 901 native and former Memphis Tigers assistant coach has started at the bottom before. He did so when he took over as head coach at Mitchell High in 2011 and at Whitehaven in 2015.
