WICHITA, Kan. — Memphis Tigers coach Penny Hardaway barely waited for the question to come out of the reporter’s mouth.

Do you feel this season, for a lack of better words, is still salvageable? And how so?

“Oh, absolutely,” Hardaway said minutes after the final buzzer had sounded in another head-scratching performance by the Tigers.
