Which Memphis Tigers could return for 2026-27 season? Which should?
Memphis Tigers Head Coach Penny Hardaway looks on against the Wichita State Shockers during the second half at FedExForum on Feb. 26, 2026. (Wes Hale/Special to The Daily Memphian)
There’s no question that the Memphis Tigers will look a lot different than they did this season when they step onto the court to open their 2026-27 campaign in a little less than eight months.
And after the Tigers wrapped up 2025-26 at 13-19 overall with an 81-69 season-ending loss to Tulane in the first round of the American Conference Tournament on Wednesday night in Birmingham, Alabama, that’s likely for the best.
Even if coach Penny Hardaway is back for a ninth season, many of the people around him will not be.
