“But knowing him, I think he’s gonna play,” Hardaway said of Jones, who tied his lowest scoring output of the season with 10 points against the 49ers.

Veatch was among the top contenders for the job when it was last open in 2021.

“We’ve been taking some losses,” said walk-on Joe Cooper. “So it just felt good to be able to contribute to the win — get the crowd back into it, get the city back into it.”
