Former Tigers running back named on College Football Hall of Fame ballot
Former Memphis Tigers running back DeAngelo Williams has been added to the 2023 College Football Hall of Fame ballot, the National Football Foundation announced on Monday.

The full ballot includes 176 players and 42 coaches. All players on the ballot needed to be a first-team All-American in order to qualify, and players aren’t eligible for consideration until 10 years after their last college season.
Williams was drafted by the Carolina Panthers with the 27th overall pick in 2006. He finished his career with the Tigers as the NCAA leader with 7,573 all-purpose yards. He holds the Memphis all-time records in all-purpose yards, rushing yards and rushing touchdowns on his way to being named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year three times.
The 2023 College Football Hall of Fame class will be announced at some point early next year. The induction ceremony will be held during the 65th NFF annual awards dinner on Dec. 5, 2023.
