The college football season is still more than two months away, but that hasn’t stopped people from identifying the top storylines and projecting how they think 2024 will play out.
One of the hot topics is which programs will participate in the first year of the expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff.
The five highest-ranked conference champions plus the next seven highest-ranked teams will be included in the field, and usual suspects including Georgia, Ohio State and Alabama are among the early favorites.
The most intriguing conversation surrounding the playoff for Memphis football fans is which program will represent the Group of Five leagues (the American Athletic Conference, the Mountain West, the Sun Belt, Conference USA and the MAC) as one of the top-ranked champions to join the playoff.
