“I think Coach (Ryan) Silverfield has done an incredible job,” says Tony Barnhart before speaking to the Memphis Touchdown Club. Tony Barnhart is high on the Memphis Tigers.
He is not alone.
Barnhart, currently a columnist for TMG Sports on SI.com, has made his pick for which FBS program will finish the 2024 college football season as the country’s highest-ranked Group of Five program.
With that distinction for the actual highest-ranked team at season’s end comes an automatic ticket into the new 12-team College Football Playoff.
“I’ve got Memphis as that team,” Barnhart said before speaking to the Memphis Touchdown Club on Monday. “I’ve got them in the playoffs.”
