CHARLOTTE, N.C. — When the NCAA transfer portal was spinning in 2024, Brendon Lewis went one way. William Whitlow Jr. entered the revolving door, but instead of going the other way he ultimately stayed where he started.
End result: The Memphis Tigers had a new veteran quarterback, Lewis, and they managed to retain a standout defensive end, Whitlow.
