The Tigers haven’t rushed for 2,000 yards in a season since 2019 and they haven’t had a player rush for 100 yards in a game since Sept. 11, 2021. Both of those streaks will end this year. 

A look at each offensive position group for the Tigers, and a comparison to how it stacks up to last year’s talent using step up, step down and push as distinctions.

“As foolish as this sounds, there was never really a second thought when I was playing football, ‘What am I gonna do if football doesn’t work out?’” said Gabe Kuhn.

Don Bramlett lettered in Memphis football during the 1983 and 1984 seasons. He also played in three games for the Minnesota Vikings. 

Sam Popper is the new director of recruiting after holding a similar role at Akron. 

Coach Ryan Silverfield revealed multiple National Signing Day and transfer portal additions in advance of the 2023 season.

The Tigers brought in the majority of their 2023 recruiting class during the NCAA early football signing period in December but will have a few more additions during the NCAA official period, starting on Feb. 1. 

Offensive lineman Jacob Gray out of Providence High School in Florida committed to Memphis after the Tigers landed a kicker hours earlier. 

Memphis now has four new athletes joining the kicking staff for the 2023 season. 

Offensive lineman Judea Milon originally committed to the Tigers in December. 

The Tigers still have Arkansas transfer Marcus Henderson, LSU transfer Xavier Hill and Ole Miss transfer Jack Greer joining the offensive line next season.

The six incoming teams have a combined record of 125-195-4 against the remaining AAC members and are 18-25 against Memphis. 

Kenneth Gainwell rushed for a career-high 112 yards with one touchdown to help the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New York Giants 38-7.

Marshall transfer Corey Gammage caught 52 passes for 774 yards and six touchdowns for Marshall last season.

Mark Shenouda announced his commitment to the Tigers through a Twitter post Monday. 

The Tigers continued to add to their running back room when three-star recruit Walter Samuel announced his commitment through a Twitter post. 

Former Georgia Southern kicker Alex Raynor made 18-of-20 field goals and lead the Sun Belt Conference in scoring with 103 points this past season. 

While Memphis lost some guys to the portal and graduation, the Tigers have brought in several transfers that include 11 former Power Five athletes.

Former University of Toledo receiver DeMeer Blankumsee has committed to Memphis, he announced on Instagram on Tuesday. Blankumsee caught 41 passes for 512 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore for the Rockets this past season.
