Bailey: Step right up. Drop the claw. Win a small teddy bear

That new claw business in Wolfchase Galleria isn’t exactly inside the boundaries of a Shelby County suburb, but it is closer to Bartlett than I’ll ever get to hooking a prize in that arcade arena.

Reporter Jane Roberts wrote about the Mini Claw store that opened last weekend in the mall across Stage from the Bartlett city limits. Occupying 2,000 square feet of Wolfchase, owner Lei Wang hopes to bring the game of chance’s popularity from his native China to the edge of Cordova.

With Mini Claw, Wolfchase has ‘pinch district’ of its own

Roberts talked in her story about the pastel backdrop and décor of the business as customers operate the claw over a sea of plush toys, hoping to drop the contraption over the head of the targeted prize.

“This is about skill and luck,” Wang told Roberts, careful to note it’s equal parts of both. “All the games are pretty much the same difficulty.”
