DeSoto sheriff subpoenaed before grand jury

DeSoto County Sheriff Thomas Tuggle II and members of his command staff were subpoenaed before a grand jury on Thursday, Dec. 12, to testify about their handling of an inmate who briefly escaped custody earlier this week.
DeSoto County District Attorney Matthew Barton called Tuggle and members of his leadership team, including Chief Deputy Justin Smith, to appear in court for a process that can end with an indictment.Â
