Cash is still king at DeSoto County’s rubbish pit

Cash is still king, at least at the DeSoto County rubbish pit, even as the Board of Supervisors approved expanding the site.

Supervisors rejected a request Monday, Oct. 5, to go cashless at the pit, which collects non-household garbage, like storm debris and non-hazardous building materials, for county residents.

The board moved faster than usual to get the project underway without going out for bid again after previous unsuccessful attempts.
