Delay No. 60 and counting in 2017 drag-racing case
On Thursday, Leslie Holland took the day off work from her role as librarian at the Southern College of Optometry. She picked up her 82-year-old mother and made her way to 201 Poplar in the hopes of finally getting some closure in her sister’s death.
That closure didn’t come.
Once again, there was a postponement in the case against defendant Cordero Ragland, a case that has already dragged on for seven years. Ragland stands accused of drag racing in a February 2017 accident that critically injured Holland’s twin sister Lisa Sloan, who died four years later from the injuries she received.
