How high is the ceiling for this year’s Memphis offense?

The recent offensive rankings released by EA Sports ahead of its College Football 25 video game, which releases July 19 with an early release date of July 16, is just another reminder of how explosive the Memphis offense is expected to be this season.
EA Sports has the Tigers rated as the 19th-best offense in the country with an overall rating of 85. Memphis, the only Group of Five team ranked in the top 25 of the EA Sports rankings, has an offensive rating tied with the likes of Notre Dame and Texas A&M. The Tigers are rated higher than the Florida State, Oklahoma and USC offenses, which were all given an 83 rating. Georgia at No. 1 and Oregon at No. 2 both have a 94 offensive rating as the highest-ranked offenses on the list.
The offensive projections for Memphis are magnified even more when looking at the 2024 Phil Steele Magazine, one of the nation’s most notable preseason reads for college football. Steele projects the Tigers to have the No. 1 passing offense in the country and ranks Memphis seventh in both total offense and scoring.
