A local judge recently accused of bias against an attorney has responded to the allegations, calling them an attempt to “impugn the integrity” of her court.
Shelby County Criminal Court Judge Chris Craft removed General Sessions Criminal Court Judge Sheila Renfroe from 28 of her cases Friday, June 28, after an assistant public defender litigating them accused Renfroe of personal bias against her.
But just hours after Craft’s ruling, Renfroe filed an order disputing the allegations from Melody Carlisle, the public defender, and keeping herself on some of the cases.
