What to watch in Memphis’ visit to San Francisco
After a solid start, Memphis embarks on the most grueling portion of its 2024-25 season.
The Tigers (3-0) play San Francisco on Thursday (9 p.m. CST, ESPNU) in a neutral site game at the Chase Center — home of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, located roughly five miles from USF’s campus — to begin a seven-day, four-game stretch.
Coach Penny Hardaway’s team — ranked No. 37 in KenPom and No. 34 in Bart Torvik — will have its hands full in a warmup for next week’s Maui Invitational, where Memphis could face three top-50 KenPom teams back-to-back-to-back.
The Dons (4-0), No. 54 in KenPom and No. 70 in Bart Torvik, were picked to finish fourth in the West Coast Conference but have already turned heads with an 84-73 win over Mountain West favorite Boise State (No. 36, KenPom) on Nov. 9.
