Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. is part of the new generation of franchise stars, but the big man also took some time to chat with a few of the past legends.

Jackson appeared recently on the “Out the Mud” podcast, hosted by former Grizzlies players Zach Randolph and Tony Allen, sharing insights on his career and discussing the franchise past and present.

“Those are my guys,” Jackson said of Allen and Randolph. “It felt like every time we talked, it felt like we were on a podcast anyway. I don’t think I would have remembered to give them the idea to start one, but I think I would have eventually.

“When they hit me and asked me to do it, I had forgotten that we were taping it. I thought they were just hitting me up to go talk and hang out. I was also wondering how official it would look, and then I showed up and I was like, ‘Wow, this is real. This is a real production and a real setup.’

“They do it the right way. My dad (Jaren Jackson Sr.) loved it, too. He sent it to me right after.”
