Merry Christmas and happy (early) Hanukkah! It’s Tuesday, Dec. 24, and hopefully, the stockings are already hung by the chimney with care. If you’re still trying to cram in some last-minute holiday shopping, you might take a little inspiration from our holiday gift guide. It may be too late for some of these ideas, but we’ve got some creative (and free!) gift experiences that might work.

Also, if you’re still not sure what to cook for Christmas dinner or just need a no-fail latke recipe, check out our holiday recipe guide.

The claims against Memphis-Shelby County Schools Superintendent Marie Feagins are “weak.” That’s what attorney Alan Crone is saying. Crone is representing Feagins as several MSCS board members look to terminate her. According to the allegations, Feagins mishandled three financial matters, and board members say she’s been dishonest and hard to communicate with. Crone said board members had not discussed their issues with Feagins ahead of the Dec. 17 meeting where they intended to vote on her termination. That vote was delayed until Jan. 14, and Crone said Feagins intends to try and resolve those differences before that meeting.

The Memphis Grizzlies, who have been on fire lately, just weren’t last night. The team suffered a tightly contested 114-110 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, a game that was tied twice within the final minute but slipped away. After the game, stars Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. took responsibility for the loss. Jackson lamented his many missed shots, and Morant said he just has to be better. “It’s simple,” he said. But the loss wasn’t solely on their shoulders; it seems the Grizzlies have had one big problem — literally — all season

Plus, three teens were injured in a drive-by, the Memphis Tigers have fallen again and we’ve got ideas for your New Year’s Eve.
