State senator has sights set on DA
State Senator Brent Taylor has a thick binder with numerous orange tabs that he says contains his case for the ouster of Shelby County District Attorney General Steve Mulroy.
“What I have prepared is a list of nine specific allegations with documentation and evidence that I have discussed with the Comptroller’s office,” Taylor said on the WKNO-TV program “Behind The Headlines” where he brought the binder and patted it as he talked about his plans.
“I have forwarded a copy to the (Tennessee) Attorney General’s office,” the Republican from Eads said. “I’ve met with leadership in both the House and the Senate. And all have found that these are very serious allegations and what should happen is the General Assembly should create a committee.”
The committee of five state Representatives and five state Senator would review the allegations to be presented some time after the legislature begins its new session in January.
