Memphis Movies This Week: ‘Anora’ returns, ‘Mickey 17’ arrives

In accepting the third of his record four Academy Awards for one movie on Sunday night, “Anora” writer-editor-director-producer Sean Baker said that his “battle cry” was to preserve the theatrical experience for movies.
If you want to honor that battle cry — I do! — or even if you’re just curious to check out the big winner at the Oscars, which got a brief theatrical run in Memphis late last year, you’re in luck: “Anora” returns this week, re-opening Friday at both Malco Theatres’ Ridgeway Cinema Grill and Collierville Cinema Grill.
