Former Memphis-Shelby County Schools Superintendent Marie Feagins encouraged her supporters to “take some seats” in a Wednesday, April 30, interview event with former CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin, according to audio and video excerpts obtained by The Daily Memphian.

“You will never be prepared. You’ve got to lead anyway. Don’t let my story scare you,” Feagins said in a video excerpt obtained by The Daily Memphian, whose reporter was denied entry to the event. “Seats are up. And the seats are for the taking, so let’s go take some seats.”
