‘Leaks, rust, mildew’ — Study highlights 201 Poplar conditions, suggests new locations

A new study shows potential locations for a new jail if Shelby County were to move its existing facility from 201 Poplar Avenue in Downtown Memphis.

The County Technical Assistance Service at the University of Tennessee conducted the new study at the May 2024 request of Shelby County Sheriff Floyd Bonner Jr.
